Valentine Greeting Card

In this project, you will make a Valentine card and, optionally, an envelope for the Valentine.

This project is rated: EASY

Materials needed:
  • Computer paper or card stock
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Crayons or colored pencils

Project Instructions

  1. Print either the plain pattern at right on paper or card stock or the colored pattern if you have a color printer.
  2. Color the plain pattern to suit yourself.
  3. Cut around the hearts you have printed, but do NOT separate them.
  4. Fold the hearts together.

This completes your Valentine. You may give it, as is, or you may wish to put it into an envelope. If you do not have a suitable envelope, the following instruction tell you how to make an envelope.

Envelope instructions
  1. Print the pattern for the envelope.
  2. Cut around the outside edges of the pattern.
  3. Fold flap A toward the center.
Note: It is easiest to make the fold if you place a thin ruler along the fold line and fold over the ruler.
  4. Fold flap B toward the center.
  5. Fold flap C over the other two flaps.
  6. Put a narrow band (about 1/8 inch) of glue on the inside edges of flap C and fasten it to the other two flaps.
  7. When the glue is dry, you can insert the Valentine into the envelope.
  8. Fold down the top flap.
  9. You may either glue the flap down or tuck it inside the envelope.

You may put a name on the envelope, before giving it to that person.
