Let’s Make a Movie

Materials needed:
- Computer paper
- Scissors
Project Instructions
- Print the the four pages below, each contain four images.
- Next, cut out the individual four images (cels) from each sheet.
- Note the numbers in the upper left corners. Place each ‘cel’ in numerical order, starting with #1.
The Animation Process
Hold the cels together with your left hand; Grip the right edges of the pictures with your right thumb and index finger; bend the stack downward with your left hand, and then release the cels one at a time by moving your right thumb. As the pages “riffle” by you should see a moving picture. This is how the animation industry began.
It may not be possible to get all the cels the exact same width. That is not too important. The important thing is to have all the right hand edges in perfect alignment. When you have done that, staple the left side of the packet.
